BRIMFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Authorities now say two children died in a head-on collision in Brimfield late last week.

State police confirmed Monday that the children who died in the crash on Route 20 just before 5 p.m. Friday were 1 1/2- and 5-year-old boys. No names were made public.

Fire Chief Frederick Piechota said Sunday that his department has been notified that one child died.

Authorities say six people were injured in the crash.

Two other children and two adults remained in the hospital Monday.

One vehicle contained an adult and three children, while the other car had an adult and one child.

The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
