NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Coast Guard says it has rescued three people from an island on Chandeleur (SHAN’-deh-luhr’)Sound.

In a news release, the Coast Guard says the rescue followed a call about a boat that overturned in bad weather.

A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans located the three around 2 a.m. Monday. The three, including a 73-year-old man, were hoisted from Freemason Island. No injuries were reported.
