OCALA, Fla. (AP) - A 34-year-old payroll clerk is accused of stealing $50,000 from her employer.

The Ocala Star-Banner (https://bit.ly/1l39KAD ) reports the woman told deputies she took the money because she’s a single mother and deeply in death from a previous relationship.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to America’s Choice RV Park on Thursday because Tammy L. Hein was late turning in the payroll. A check of the payroll system found that Hein had been paying herself in commissions or bonuses since March.

She was confronted with the accusation when she arrived at work on Friday. The deputy noted in a report that Hein said she saw an opportunity to “pay her debt off.”

Hein was charged with grand theft. Jail record don’t indicate whether she has an attorney.
