NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Former University of Oklahoma outfielder Destinee Martinez has been selected to play for USA Softball’s Women’s National Team for a second consecutive year.

Martinez recently completed her eligibility at OU and is one of 17 players named to the 2014 team following workouts and a series of exhibition games.

The team will play an exhibition game in Morgantown, West Virginia, next month before traveling to Irvine, California, for the General Tire World Cup of Softball July 7-13.

The team will also play in the Canadian Open Fast Pitch International in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, July 15-21 and Italian Softball Week in Azzano, Italy, Aug. 6-10 before playing in the International Softball Federation Women’s World Championships, Aug. 15-24, in the Netherlands.
