GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) - A brush fire burning in the hills above Glendale has charred about 150 acres.

The fire began Sunday afternoon and spread into the hills above the city’s Brand Park.

Glendale Fire Department spokesman Dan Bell said three hikers were airlifted around the smoke and flames, and two more hikers were helped out on foot.

Nearly 200 firefighters were battling the blaze.
