GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Authorities are seeking a man who shot a hospital security guard in a downtown Grand Rapids parking structure.

Grand Rapids police Sgt. Gregory Griffin says Monday that the Spectrum Hospital guard was shot in the leg Sunday night after confronting the man who was going through vehicles.

The security guard told investigators he stopped the man who gave him a vague answer about what he was doing. The man pulled a handgun when the guard told him to the stay put and shot the guard who tried to run away.

The guard was treated at the hospital and released.
