SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A Sioux Falls man accused of punching his 73-year-old father has pleaded not guilty to elder abuse and other charges.

The Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/UBiVCY ) reports that 47-year-old Kevin Likes entered his plea Monday.

Sioux Falls Police spokesman Sam Clemens says Likes pushed his father onto a couch and punched him on June 3. Clemens says Likes then pushed his 69-year-old mother when she tried to intervene.

A grand jury earlier this month indicted Likes on two counts of abuse of a disabled adult and four misdemeanor counts of simple assault.

It is unclear whether Likes has legal representation. A trial has been scheduled for Sept. 8.
