ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - A 21-year-old man suspected of an armed robbery and a drive-by shooting in Rockford has been arrested.

The Rockford Register Star (https://bit.ly/1nYhIj2 ) reports that Lamarcus L. Bassett of Rockford was arrested Sunday night at a residence without incident by Rockford police officers and is being held without bond on charges that he violated his parole. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.

Bassett also faces charges in connection with a June 17 robbery of a woman and a drive-by shooting last Thursday in which a motorist was shot in the shoulder.

Bassett is a convicted felon and had served in prison after a second-degree murder conviction for his involvement in an apparent gunfight in 2009 that left two people dead.
