COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Stanley Johnson had 15 points and seven rebounds Monday night, leading the U.S. Under-18 team to a 90-56 rout of the Dominican Republic for a spot in the FIBA Americas Championships.

The Americans (4-0) will play Canada (4-0) for the gold medal Tuesday night.

Johnson, of Fullerton, California, added three steals. Tyus Jones, Apple Valley, Minnesota, added 14 points and seven assists for the United States, which is in the tournament final for the eighth time in nine years.

Also scoring in double figures for the Americans were Allonzo Trier of Seattle (13 points), Luke Kennard of Franklin, Ohio (11) and Jalen Brunson of Lincolnshire, Illinois (10).

“You learn to sacrifice for something that is bigger than you as a basketball player,” Trier said. “We have one goal at hand, and that is to win gold. Winning gold is bigger than all of us, so individually it’s us coming together and sacrificing what we need to in order to win gold.”

Canada defeated Argentina 91-82 in overtime in the other semifinal. Dillon Brooks had 29 points and Montaqu Gill-Caesar added 24 for the Canadians.
