PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - An East Greenwich woman has been arrested and charged with driving intoxicated and other offenses after her car struck a state police cruiser in Providence.

State police say troopers were helping a disabled motorist on Route 95 around 12:30 a.m. Sunday and their two cruisers were blocking a lane. They say 20-year-old Nicole DiLello drove around the first cruiser and hit the second one, which then struck the disabled vehicle. The trooper and car occupants and were standing outside and weren’t hit.

DiLello was taken to a hospital after complaining of pain. Her two 16-year-old passengers had minor injuries. An open bottle with a suspected alcoholic beverage was found.

When she’s released from the hospital, DiLello will face a variety of charges. It wasn’t known if she has a lawyer.
