CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Casper police say they rescued a 16-year-old girl as part of a national sweep to recover exploited children.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1nB11IS ) that Casper police arrested Joseph Jovon Dawson. Police say they believe he brought the girl to Casper from Colorado.

Dawson faces charges of promoting prostitution, child endangerment, sexual servitude of a minor and child exploitation.

According to a police statement filed in court, an agent with the Casper Police Department responded to an online advertisement for a prostitute. Police say Dawson was arrested after he brought the girl to a hotel on Saturday.

The FBI says that actions to address commercial child sex trafficking were conducted in 106 cities nationwide. Criminal charges were filed against 281 adults and 168 children were recovered.
