CARLISLE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers are searching for the people responsible for killing a black bear and dumping it in Nicholas County on the side of the road.

Authorities say they found the carcass on Sunday due to buzzards circling overhead. They think it was dumped a few days before then.

Edgar Day, who owns the property, told WKYT-TV (https://bit.ly/TrpnLT) that he was surprised by the type of carcass found, but he says people often dump trash the area.

Fish and Wildlife officers say bear season doesn’t start until December, so they’re searching for the people who killed and dumped the bear.
