BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - The Name the Team contest for Biloxi’s new Double-A baseball team is being extended for another week.

The team says Monday in a news release that they’ve nearly 48,000 votes over the first three weeks.

Voters will be selecting from one of six options: Beacon, Black Jacks, Mullets, Schooners, Shrimpers and Shuckers. The six were the top vote-getters in the first stage of the contest.

The Huntsville, Alabama, Stars, the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are moving to Biloxi for the 2015 season, giving the Gulf Coast its first minor league team affiliated with a Major League franchise.

The city broke ground Jan. 23 on the $36 million MGM Park located on U.S. Highway 90 across from Beau Rivage and Casino.
