GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued two kayakers from Lake Michigan near a pier in Grand Haven.

The Coast Guard says it was notified Monday afternoon by authorities in Ottawa County that two women were in the water after their kayaks overturned.

A boat crew from Grand Haven arrived within minutes and rescued the women, taking them back to land along with their kayaks.

No injuries are reported. The Coast Guard says the women weren’t wearing life jackets, which made the situation more dangerous.
