WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple is hosting the second Governor’s Pipeline Summit on June 24.

The last Governor’s Pipeline Summit was in 2012.

The summit will take place at the National Energy Center of Excellence on the Bismarck State College campus.

It will look at how the state’s oil and gas are currently transported and provide an update on proposed pipeline projects.

There have been mounting calls for more pipelines to be built in the state. Those pushing for more pipelines say pipelines would reduce truck traffic and enhance public safety. Much of North Dakota’s oil has to be moved by truck to pipeline or rail facilities before it can be shipped to markets.
