SOUTH BARRINGTON, Ill. (AP) - Police in northwest suburban Chicago say an 86-year-old woman was found drowned in a pool at her South Barrington home.

Authorities say a neighbor found Betty Stas floating in the pool on Sunday. The Cook County medical examiner says a Monday autopsy found Stas drowned and had heart and lung diseases. The medical examiner ruled her death an accident.

Police Chief Thomas Roman tells the Chicago Sun-Times (https://bit.ly/1rugJrP ) that the death is a “terrible, tragic accident.”
