LAS VEGAS (AP) - The FBI says a nationwide operation targeting commercial sex trafficking of minors found seven juveniles in Las Vegas and resulted in the arrests of two suspected pimps.

Federal authorities announced the Nevada cases Monday were part of a sweep that led to 281 arrests on state and federal charges and the recovery of 168 youngsters

Phoenix had the most arrests, 21, followed by Jackson, Mississippi, Atlanta, New Orleans and Oklahoma City.

The annual enforcement push, known as Operation Cross Country, was the eighth week-long effort as part of the Innocence Lost National Initiative.

This year, it included 106 cities.

FBI Director James Comey says the goal is to rescue children being trafficked on street corners, in truck stops and on the Internet, where pimps advertise and arrange sexual encounters.
