CLARKSDALE, Miss. (AP) - Kendel Wayne Montgomery has been sentenced to life without parole for the 2012 slaying of his grandmother.

Authorities say the body of 68-year-old Mary Webb was found stuffed under a bed in her Davenport community home in Coahoma County in March 2013. She died of multiple stab wounds.

The Clarksdale Press Register reports (https://bit.ly/1pEYsst ) Montgomery pleaded guilty to capital murder this past week in circuit court.

Prosecutors say Montgomery stole his grandmother’s van and was apprehended in Memphis.
