HONESDALE, Pa. (AP) - State police in northeastern Pennsylvania have charged a man in the shooting death of his niece which investigators allege followed an argument over $20 worth of heroin.

The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1nz82d4 ) reports that police in Wayne County charged 51-year-old Louis Ogden of Lake Ariel with homicide in the death of 20-year-old Rebecca Pisell.

Another relative told investigators that Pisell came to the South Canaan Township home on Friday and demanded the return of money she had paid for drugs.

The witness said Ogden told her he only meant to scare his niece by pointing a gun at her but “it just went off.”

Court documents don’t list an attorney for Ogden and a listed phone number for him couldn’t be found Tuesday.
