BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A 20-year-old western New York man is facing murder charges in connection with the shooting death of a Vietnam veteran.

Andre Johnson of Buffalo is indicted on two counts of second-degree murder and one count of first-degree robbery in the attack on 70-year-old Robert Bennett.

Bennett was found dead in his house on March 29, after a next-door relative had looked in a window and noticed he had been on a couch for hours and had not moved.

Johnson was arrested June 3 and is being held at Erie County Jail. He’s to be arraigned in state Supreme Court on Thursday.

Bennett’s son says his father served several tours of duty in Vietnam during the 1960s and early 1970s.
