MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A jury has been selected for the first-degree murder trial of a man accused of killing a 20-month-old Mason City boy in 1994.

Eight men and four women were sworn in Tuesday afternoon. Four alternate jurors also were chosen. Court action will resume Wednesday.

Thirty-eight-year-old Michael Cisneros is charged with killing John Snyder Jr., who went missing on July 20, 1994. His body was found the next day in a creek.

Cisneros was arrested in July 2013. Investigators say DNA analysis linked him to the killing. He has pleaded not guilty.
