HAZEL DELL, Wash. (AP) - A man crossing Highway 99 to meet a friend at a coffee shop was struck and fatally injured Wednesday evening in Hazel Dell.

Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Randon Walker said says the man was not in a crosswalk as he attempted to run across the six-lane highway.

Arriving firefighters took the 45-year-old to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center where he died.

The Columbian reports (https://bit.ly/1qeDCSo) the car driver cooperated with investigators and did not appear to be impaired.
