SALEM, Ore. (AP) - The state Parks and Recreation Commission has added a 12th ride to the Oregon Scenic Bikeways program.

At its meeting this week in Klamath Falls, the commission approved the Cascading Rivers Scenic Bikeway - a 70-mile route between Estacada and Detroit.

A shorter, family friend ride is available near Estacada on Faraday Road, which is closed to motor vehicles.

Directional signage for the scenic bikeway will be posted this summer. The route will be closed during late fall and winter because of snow.

Launched in 2005, the Oregon Scenic Bikeways program now encompasses more than 860 miles.
