NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt will be celebrating its College World Series title during a Thursday night event on campus.

The victory celebration featuring Vanderbilt coach Tim Corbin and the team will take place at 6 p.m. CDT at the athletic department’s multipurpose facility. The celebration originally was scheduled for the soccer-lacrosse stadium, but the threat of bad weather caused it to move indoors.

Admission is free. Fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and take pictures of the championship trophy. Championship merchandise will be available for purchase.

Vanderbilt clinched its first national title in a men’s team sport Wednesday by defeating Virginia 3-2 in the decisive third game of the College World Series championship series. Vanderbilt’s only previous national team title was a women’s bowling championship in 2007.
