WATKINSVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Oconee County Sheriff’s officials say the driver of a pickup truck was hospitalized after her truck hit a tanker truck and burst into flames.

Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry tells the Athens Banner-Herald (https://bit.ly/1pTW01k ) the tanker spilled fuel onto U.S. Highway 441 after the crash Thursday afternoon and the Georgia Department of Transportation was called to help clean the highway.

Authorities say the driver of the pickup truck was taken to the Athens Regional Medical Center. The woman’s identity hasn’t been released and the cause of the crash is unclear.
