GRAY, La. (AP) - State police say a 2-year-old girl was killed when a truck fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run accident crashed into her home in Gray.

Trooper Evan Harrell says a pickup driven by 20-year-old Tony Milligan, of Houma, was southbound on Louisiana Highway 24 around 2:30 a.m. Friday when it ran into the back of a car.

Harrell says investigators allege that Milligan drove down Highway 24, lost control and ran off the road - hitting a house and injuring three people inside.

Harrell says the child, Taylor Strickland, was taken to a Thibodaux hospital where she later died.

He says the child’s parents are in stable condition.

Harrell says Milligan, who suffered minor injuries, was booked with vehicular homicide and other charges.
