FRANKLIN, N.J. (AP) - A dog snatched during a home burglary in central New Jersey is back home.

Police in Franklin Township say the year-old schnauzer-poodle mix named Pepper has been recovered.

A woman had reported finding her Hunt Road home had been broken into on Tuesday and her dog stolen, along with some jewelry, a laptop and a tablet computer.

Investigators believe the burglar entered the home through an unlocked rear door.

Sgt. Phil Rizzo tells the Courier News of Bridgewater (https://mycj.co/1iDrKHx ) on Friday that two suspects had been taken into custody.

Police did not release their names or say whether they had been charged.
