DETROIT (AP) - The Kresge Foundation has awarded its annual fellowships for Detroit artists.

The Troy-based foundation on Thursday announced 18 recipients of its Kresge Artist Fellowships. They include musicians, composers, filmmakers and a playwright.

The unrestricted fellowships are worth $25,000 each and include professional practice opportunities.

Kresge officials say the fellows consist of “renowned practitioners” and “rising talent,” and represent “the depth and multiplicity of Detroit’s artistic output.”
