MONROE, La. (AP) - Miss Greater Baton Rouge Renee Picou (PEE’-koo) and Miss Spirit of the Ouachita Amy Matherne have been named preliminary winners in the first official night of competition in the 2014 Miss Louisiana pageant.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/1lvBgvD) Picou won the lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit competition while Matherne was recognized for her vocal performance of Italian Street Song in the talent competition Thursday night.

On Saturday night, following an opening parade of contestants, the top 10 will be announced. The field will later be narrowed to the top five with the winner announced just before 10 p.m.
