DELMAR, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed one person and seriously injured another.

Police say troopers were called to the Delmar area after the crash Thursday night. Investigators say 60-year-old John H. English of Delmar was driving a motorcycle on Sussex Highway near Iron Hill Road.

Police say it appears an unknown vehicle may have pulled out in front of the motorcycle. English locked the brakes and tried to avoid crashing. But both English and a passenger, 48-year-old Lisa L. Boothe of Delmar, were ejected onto the roadway.

Shortly after, police say a Honda Accord traveling on Sussex Highway partially ran over Boothe.

Boothe was pronounced dead at the scene. English was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
