PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - The Memorial Bridge connecting New Hampshire and Maine has gotten very colorful.

A project to illuminate the bridge at night has succeeded. The Portsmouth Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1jU4WOi) LED lights on the towers and along the deck of the newly redone bridge show an array of colors - red, magenta, green, blue.

A committee raised $200,000 to do the job. Committee member Jon DeGesu said people will see a cycle of colors, as many as four at once. They pulse the time each hour, in sync with the North Church.

The colors will change with the season. Orange and gold will be seen in the fall, as well as different lighting for the holidays.

The new bridge connecting Portsmouth to Kittery, Maine, opened in August, replacing the original built in 1923.
