SAN DIEGO (AP) - Coroner’s officials say remains found in a wooded area of San Diego County are those of a man with Alzheimer’s disease who went missing last week.

Sixty-seven-year-old Carl Salayer walked away from his Ramona home June 17.

Dozens of deputies and volunteers searched for Salayer for several days.

U-T San Diego reports (https://bit.ly/1pWYRGA ) his body was found Wednesday in heavy brush on unfenced private land, about two miles from his house.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said Thursday that an autopsy has been conducted, but the results are pending.
