NEWFANE, Vt. (AP) - The Town Hall in Newfane, Vermont, is getting an electrical upgrade.

The hope is the effort is a step toward using the hall year-round. It’s generally not used in the winter.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports (https://bit.ly/1sKaAMk) the town has been awarded an $11,413 bid for the upgrades.

Williamsville Hall was not damaged during Tropical Storm Irene in 2011 and served as a meeting place and relief center.

But the building lacks insulation, making heating the hall very expensive.
