ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A king salmon fishery will be held for children only on Saturday and Sunday in Anchorage.

Alaska Department of Fish and Game officials say a stretch of Campbell Creek will be open for the fishery from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on each of those days. Participants must be 15 years old or younger.

The portion of the creek for the fishery is between the Old Seward Highway and Dimond Boulevard.

Officials say a good turnout is expected for the youth-only fishery, which is in its ninth year.

Officials say recent heavy rains have created high murky water that could make fishing more challenging.

Participants don’t need a fishing license or king stamp. However, they must have harvest record cards, which are free and available wherever licenses are sold.
