NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says it rescued a kayaker who capsized along the Oregon Coast.

A spokesman says a Newport-based aircrew was doing a patrol just before noon Saturday when they saw the kayaker in the water near Cascade Head.

A Coast Guard rescue swimmer went into the water and the crew was able to hoist the man aboard. The kayaker was wearing survival gear and was not injured.
