DECATUR, Ind. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who went missing after his kayak capsized on a northeastern Indiana river.

Indiana conservation Sgt. Patrick Heidenreich said Saturday that searchers are looking for 54-year-old Steven Seitz of Decatur.

Seitz and another man were kayaking on the St. Mary’s River in Adams County south of Fort Wayne on Friday evening when his kayak struck a log jam and overturned.

Seitz was thrown into the water and didn’t resurface. Heidenreich says the man wasn’t wearing a life jacket.

Searchers were unable to locate Seitz on Friday night.

Divers from the Department of Natural Resources and the Indiana State Police were searching the river Saturday. Authorities were also using sonar.
