NORTON SHORES, Mich. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says it used a helicopter to rescue a severely dehydrated woman from a rugged section of sand dunes at Hoffmaster State Park along Lake Michigan near Muskegon.

The Coast Guard says it got a call to help the Muskegon County sheriff’s department Saturday afternoon.

It says the woman was in an area of the park that is hard to reach on foot. It says she was dehydrated and had other heat-related symptoms.

The Coast Guard says its crew used a rescue swimmer and a basket to help pull the woman into the Dolphin helicopter.

There was no immediate information on her condition Sunday. The Coast Guard didn’t release her name.

The park is in Norton Shores, south of Muskegon.
