MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Madison police say two students broke into Madison West High School and stole clothing after seeing on Facebook that other students had broken in as well.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm Saturday just before midnight and saw two 16-year-olds leaving the building.

The teens had found clothing that was meant for the next school year. Police say they changed into the new clothing and also stole other apparel.

The boys told investigators they got the idea after seeing on Facebook that other students had accessed the school grounds after hours.

Police released the teens into their parents’ custody while they continue to investigate.
