COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Miss Anderson Lanie Hudson has won the Miss South Carolina pageant.

Hudson was crowned Saturday night in Columbia. The 23-year-old Clemson University student will go on to compete in the Miss America pageant in September.

Hudson did a clog dance to Aretha Franklin’s “Think” as her talent and answered a question about whether she thought Americans should be allowed to protest abortion clinics, based on a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling.

The Upstate dominated the pageant. Miss Boiling Springs Lauren Cabaniss finished second, Miss Fountain Inn Daja Dial was third, Miss Greenville Scottish Games Kelly Ragan was fourth and Miss Clemson Callie Martin finished fifth.

Miss Greater Easley Teen Hope Harvard won the 2014 Miss South Carolina Teen crown Friday night.
