NEW YORK (AP) - New Yorkers looking to cool down from the hot temperatures can now take a dip in one of the city’s public outdoor pools.

The city Parks Department officially opened the season on Friday. There are 55 outdoor pools in the five boroughs. They are all free and open to the public.

The outdoor pools will be open through Sept. 1. Swimming hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m .to 7 p.m. daily.

The pools range in size from wading pools to Olympic pools.
