PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The victims of a Philadelphia house fire have been identified as a 69-year-old woman and her 5-year-old great grandson.

Police and the medical examiner’s office did not immediately provide new information on the fire, which was reported early Saturday, just after midnight, in north Philadelphia.

But relatives say the dead woman is Gwendolyn Cofield and Lamar Anthony James, also known as T.J.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene about 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Family members were told the woman was found holding the boy in her arms, the positions of their bodies suggesting she was attempting to save the boy from the fire.
