CAHOKIA, Ill. (AP) - Police in southern Illinois say they’re investigating the shooting death of a 45-year-old Cahokia woman.

Police say Cassandra Holman was found shot several times on Friday. On Saturday the Major Case Squad of St. Louis said it is looking for two persons of interest in her death.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports (https://bit.ly/UY6Ojv ) that Holman was able to run to a neighbor’s house for help, but died at a hospital in nearby Centreville two hours after police received a call reporting an invasion at her home.

Police say a second person was shot during the invasion and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police say Holman is the mother of two children.

Cahokia is a suburb of St. Louis located on the Mississippi River in Illinois.
