FANNETT, Texas (AP) - An 80-year-old Southeast Texas man drowned when the mower he was riding slipped into a pond on his rural property, pinning him beneath the surface.

A Jefferson County sheriff’s statement says an autopsy has been ordered on Billy Huffhines.

Deputy Rod Carroll said Huffhines died shortly before noon on Saturday at his property in Fannett, 14 miles southwest of Beaumont.
