NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Emeril Lagasse Foundation has doled out $125,000 in spring grant awards to four New Orleans nonprofits that focus on food.

In announcing Monday’s recipients, Lagasse said the grants “are a testament of our ongoing commitment to impacting kids’ lives in our community.”

Second Harvest Food Bank received its grant to provide free breakfast to 4,000 low-income children enrolled in summer camps and to help expand its Kids Cafe program. NOCCA’s grant will provide uniforms and equipment for students in the high school culinary program.
