COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn has announced that two South Carolina communities are getting Agriculture Department grants to help expand water infrastructure into underserved areas.

The 6th District Democrat said Monday that Kingstree is getting more than $22,000. The money will be used for a pre-engineering report on expanding the town’s wastewater treatment plant.

Santee is getting $25,000. That money will be used as the town studies expanding both its water and wastewater treatment systems.
