CENTRALIA, Wash. (AP) - A Centralia police officer fatally shot a man who pulled a gun in a fight over a burrito shoplifted from a convenience store.

Police spokesman John Panco says the officer was trying to arrest the suspect Sunday morning when he resisted. When he pulled out a handgun the officer fired, and the 43-year-old Centralia man died at the scene.

Centralia Police Chief Bob Berg told The Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1ohCRF6) the officer had his police dog, Lobo, with him. And Lobo was crucial to protecting the officer by biting the suspect during the fight.
