CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a man and charged him in connection with a robbery in which a woman was shot in the face.

The Charlotte Observer reports (https://bit.ly/TxcbF0) 22-year-old De-Lin Collins was taken into custody on Monday. Police said Collins is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Collins is jailed under an $80,000 bond. Jail records don’t indicate whether he has an attorney.

Investigators say a woman was approached by several men as she withdrew money from an ATM on June 4. Police said the woman dropped her purse, got into her car and was trying to drive away when someone fired a shot into her car.
