CAPE MAY, N.J. (AP) - The Coast Guard rescued five people from a boat that was taking on water about 35 miles off Cape May.

A person aboard the 34-foot vessel radioed for help around noon Sunday.

Two Coast Guard vessels and a helicopter responded to the scene.

A crewman boarded the stricken vessel with a pump and found about three feet of water in the boat.

The pump got the upper hand on the flooding and the vessel was escorted to Schooner Island Marina.

No one was injured.
