DALLAS (AP) - Dallas police have arrested a man accused of killing a passenger in his vehicle while stopped at a gas station, fleeing and then shooting himself.

Police on Monday announced 41-year-old Ranji Charles has been charged with murder and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Bond was set at $500,000 over Sunday’s fatal shooting of 33-year-old Corey Shannon.

Police had no immediate details on an attorney for Charles, who was also linked to another slaying earlier Sunday. Details weren’t immediately released.

Investigators believe Charles and Shannon argued while in a car outside a gas station. Charles allegedly shot Shannon, dumped the body and drove away.

Police later received a 911 call about a car driving into a fence and a witness hearing a gunshot. Police believe Charles shot himself in the face.
