MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Cobb County prosecutors say a former office manager has been sentenced for stealing more than $800,000 from her former employer.

Officials say 45-year-old Sharron Yvonne Rice pleaded guilty Monday to three counts of violating the state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Prosecutors say Rice issued more than 800 checks to fake vendors and forged her boss’ signature between 2005 and 2012. Prosecutors say Rice then deposited the checks into accounts for fake companies to try concealing the theft.

Rice has been sentenced to 30 years and is ordered to serve eight of them in prison. She’s also been ordered to pay $803,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors say her co-defendant is scheduled to go to trial July 7.
